Skirting the Issue is a unique line of sustainable,
earth-friendly fashions designed and hand-crafted by Haze
McElhenny of studio524. Each creation is a one of a kind
original sewn from vintage tees, hand painted and embellished
as you wish by the original artist.
Whether
you prefer to have your Re-Tired
Tee(s) re-fashioned into an exciting new creation or
would like to have a skirt custom designed
and hand-painted to your specifications, you will be
helping to better our global environment and making a contribution
to the greater good. Here's how:
- All
designs created under the Skirting the Issue label are
and will always be sustainable, earth friendly designs.
That is to say that they will always be created from recycled
tees and worked by hand from studio524 in Bethlehem, PA.
- Except
in the case of recycling and
restyling a client's favorite tees, the blank goods
are and will always be purchased from one or more thrift
stores that provide support to needy individuals and families.
No new goods will ever be created for use in Skirting
the Issue's designs.
- A
portion of the profits of all retail sales from the Skirting
the Issue website will be donated to the national chapter
of Girls
Inc. Donations will be made on a quarterly basis and
will amount to at least 10% of the realized profits.
studio524
celebrates the beauty of women - all women - and
happily creates flattering designs for all shapes and sizes.
From juniors to the more curv-a-licious plus sizes, each
one of a kind creation is sewn to fit the the client's measurements
and body type.
